We spoke to Art Lead and KS2 teacher Miss Saltern from Cardwell Primary School about how the school got involved with Access All Arts week.
What made you decide to take part in Access All Arts week?
The opportunity for our pupils to try new artforms that they may not have experienced before.
How did your school take part?
Each year group was assigned one of the modules and classes focused on one main activity and some sharing time in their sessions. We also celebrated pupils' work in assemblies and in class sharing time.
What did your school get out of taking part in Access All Arts week?
Our pupils eyes were opened to many more artistic possibilities and their engagement with the arts was greatly increased. For teachers, it was a great opportunity to raise the profile of the arts and promote enjoyment within the pupils and staff.
