Draw Your Happy Place

Where do you feel happiest? Is it playing in your garden? On holiday by the sea? Cuddled up with your family? Or somewhere else entirely?

Our Access All Arts Week theme this year is Joy and we want to see the places that make your pupils smile.

We're inviting primary school pupils across the country to draw a picture of a place where they feel happy, and the winning drawings will be brought to life by the animation studio behind Obki, Glowdogs and MC Grammar.

That's right! Ritzy Animation are bringing their magic to your classroom, and one lucky winner will see their artwork transformed into a 20-second animated scene.

What to draw:

  • A place that brings you joy
  • Include at least one thing that could move (a person, animal, object - anything)
  • Draw in landscape format on the activity sheet
  • Top tip: Add a little arrow or circle to show what you'd like to see animated

How it works:

  • Download the competition pack and use the activity sheet with your class
  • Email your pupils’ drawings to accessallarts@nationalschoolspartnership.com or post to We Are Futures, 1 Paris Gardens, SE1 8ND
  • One winning entry will be selected by the team at Ritzy Animation
  • The winning artist will receive their drawing professionally animated into a 20-second scene by Ritzy Animation
  • The final animation will be sent to their class teacher to share and celebrate

How winners are chosen:

Winning drawings will be based on these criteria:

  • Joyful idea – does it capture a moment of happiness?
  • Imagination & originality – is it creative and unique?
  • Visual clarity – can we clearly see the characters and key objects?

Competition closes: April 17th 2026
